Polar and Solar (aka Gideon)
Hi there,
My name is Polar and I am a fluffy husky. Mommy and Daddy adopted me back in October. Since I have lived with them I have been very spoiled. I am very smart. I am so smart that I learned how to be my mommy's seizure dog, without any training. I have so many toys, my own porch, I even have my own room that mommy and daddy decorated for me. I have finally found a permanent home after being in the shelter 3 times in my 3 years of life. I also go to CCHS almost weekly to visit with the girls who have taken such good care of me. I also like running around and playing with the other dogs there. Recently mommy and daddy adopted a black kitty from there. His name was Gideon, but we changed his name to Solar. I will let him write now. Hi there, Solar here. I am so happy to be in this wonderful home. Mommy and daddy spoil me just as much as they spoil my new brother Polar. Polar has been so nice to me, he even shares his futon, his room, his porch, and even his kennel. I love laying in his kennel, it is so soft and fluffy. Polar and I play all the time. We even groom each other and give each other kisses. Every time Polar goes out, I am right behind him so I can hunt flowers and grasses. I love being here with my new family. There is even talk about getting another kitty for us to play with. Polar and I are so lucky to have found such a great home. Even though sometimes we get mischievous together and steal food from our cupboard. We love mommy and daddy and are excited to live our whole lives in this wonderful place. Thank you for taking care of us until we found our new family!!!

Ayla and Misha
I actually have 2 cats from CCHS. The first one was adopted along with another cat by my friend, and I was there helping him pick them out. Ayla (pronounced EYE-la) was pretty wild and Gabby was very calm and lovely. My friend gave me Ayla and kept Gabby. In the pictures, she is the white cat. "Ayla" is Turkish for "moonlight". I have worked with her a lot and now she is quite sweet. She loves to be petted and when I scratch the base of her tail, she drools.

Misha is a recent update to my household and I'm sorry to say that she has not completely adjusted. She is very afraid of the other cats and spends her days hiding upstairs, while the others are downstairs doing cat things, and going outside on my deck (they cannot go free - the deck is too high off of the ground.) Misha comes to me when I go to bed and lays on me while we have our special time. She comes and goes throughout the night, depending on what other cat is in the bed.

She seems to be getting braver as days go by.

I'm sure you will recognize Misha, as she spent a couple of years at CCHS.

Moochie
Moochie seems to be adjusting just fine, every day he teaches me something new, communicating to me what he expects of me. He is a GREAT dog and has healed my broken heart a great deal. He loves to sit in his window seat as you can see in the picture, and he's not camera shy.

I am grateful for the adoption he is wonderful company, and is accepting his new home. He puts a smile on my face every day!

Hi! My name is Quincy. Just updating you on how I am doing!! I just had my first birthday! Mom and dad took me to the vet for my one year check up and my health is 100%. The vet even said I was a Yooper dog!! Mom even made me a facebook page, so all of my friends and family down state can see my pretty pictures and keep up to date on my busy life being a dog!

Sonny (aka Abercrombie) and Sundae
Hi!

I adopted Sonny (aka Abercombie) after we took him for a walk one afternoon. My boyfriend fell in love with him and I think Sonny fell in love with him! So I surprised Cody with Sonny for his birthday (Oct. 2009). Since we got Sonny we have added another dog to the family. A beagle named Sundae. They are the biggest dorks and we love them so much! They are both really well behaved! They love going for walks and being outside. Sonny loves to go swimming. While Sundae is content with watching. They love making new friends and Sonny is quite the flirt! They are the cutest little cuddle bugs! Whenever they want something...they come to me with their big brown eyes and I cave!

These dogs are amazing and I am thankful for everyday that we have them!

Thank you again!

Courtney & Cody

Hailey
Hey CCHS! Just wanted to give you the heads up on Hailey. Hailey has been enjoying her first two months in her new home. When we first brought her home she was a little shy, but she's adapted just fine. She gets along great with my other two pets, my cat Theo and dog Brownie. Her favorite spot to sleep is either on top of the couch by the window or on someones bed. She loves being scratched under her chin and having her ears rubbed. She's very nice, she never hisses or growls or attacks anyone. In the mornings, you can expect to be woken up by her head rubbing against either your hand or face. She likes to tell you when its time to be fed, no matter what time in the morning it is. Trust me, if she isn't fed her feast of Friskies by 9 am, she'll follow you everywhere until you do. She's always great company to everyone and always has an open spot to sit by whoever she pleases. Thank you for keeping such a wonderful kitty in your care!

Sincerely,

Catherine, Hailey and family

Casey
Casey's first update came in a letter, which you can read by clicking on the photo to the left. Since then, we've gotten the following update:

"After testing my Wendy for 71 days I decided she was finally worthy of petting me outside of my cage. Since then I have really begun to break out of my shell and now receive attention multiple times a day! I do continue to test my limits to determine if my human really does love me, and so far she loves me no matter what I do. I think I might decide to stay here."
