Polar’s Pals – A celebration of the love of shelter pets

March 23 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Polar was a very special boy adopted from CCHS 15 years ago. He lived a full and wonderful life with his mama Katelyn, and she wanted to do something to memorialize him and help the shelter he was adopted from. This fundraiser is meant to celebrate all the great memories we have with animals we’ve adopted and raise money for the animals still waiting for their forever homes.

Please feel free to share photos and memories of pets you have adopted (doesn’t have to be from CCHS) with your donation. Donations do NOT have to be large to make a big impact! Every little bit adds up, and together we can do so much good for shelter critters.  It would also be a beautiful thing to make this a page full of reasons to adopt a shelter animal.

Even if you aren’t in a position to donate, you can read all the happy tails here.

From Polar’s mom Katelyn:

Polar was truly an amazing dog and I couldn’t be luckier to have had him by my side for the last 15 years. He was a very special boy. Not only did he come from CCHS, but after adoption he still visited to play and socialize with the other dogs, he would also go for the college kids to hang out with them when there weren’t many dogs occupying the shelter. He was a gentle soul, incredibly smart, kind, and full of love. He loved every person and every creature he met, even though his first 2 years of life were abuse and neglect. He took care of me when he was younger, I took care of him as he aged. Polar was my best friend, my reason to live on multiple occasions, my reason to smile, the reason snow was enjoyable, and so very much more. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for him and there is nothing he wouldn’t do for me. The most meaningful thing I could think to do for him now is sharing his love with others through stories and raising money for the place that saved us both and brought us together. Please help me honor Polar by giving to CCHS. So many animals are saved and loved by this amazing place and the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
