Pets and the elderly have a lot to give to each other. Research and experience has shown that animals and older people can share their time and affection, and ultimately, full and happy lives. Though pets can’t replace human relationships for seniors, they can certainly augment them, and they can fill an older person’s life with years of constant, unconditional love. CCHS wants to help provide companionship to seniors by offering:
- $10.00 adoption fee for adult cat or dog – This includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, 5 pound bag of Science Diet Pet Food and a $10.00 coupon from Walmart for pet food.
- Transportation to and from Vet Clinic for exams – Volunteers are available to help transport you and your pet to vet exams if needed.
- Emergency Care – If an adopter needs to spend time in a hospital or nursing home, we will take care of their pet at no charge until they are home and able to take it back.
If an animal is chosen and it doesn’t work out or if at anytime the adopter can not longer care for the pet – We will always take the animal back.
