2 months after my initial Happy Tails story, things just get better…and in some cases funnier. Slater-Kitty (formerly Loretta ) and older incumbent cat Cali get along better than ever, and daily rounds of Cat Tag never cease to entertain. While Slater seemed to bond with me first…probably since I was delivering the initial food, meds and attention. …she has since warmed up to my partner Jesse who can deliver the best back-scratches ever after decades of kitty ownership.
The best humorous moments have come from Slater’s “counter-terrorist ” activities. For a kitty with a basket full of toys and a cat companion , she still needs lots of extra entertainment. Since she already determined that her favorite toys were those that she could pick up, toss around and carry by mouth, it shouldn’t have surprised us that she started raiding all our garden produce as soon as we started harvesting. Apparently green beans and snow peas are most tossable, tomatillos and plums are most rollable, and cucumbers /squash are just fun to knock off the counter. And if none of those are around, she can always go chew on the tail of our patience-of-a-saint-style dog Bonnie!
