Tanek (aka Teddy) was our first adoption from CCHS back in 2009. He was abused as a pup and wouldn’t let anyone near him without snapping (he actually got me a few times before I took him home). He didn’t know any commands, couldn’t walk on a leash and was overly aggressive to most other dogs. He’d spent more of his life at the humane society than outside of it when we adopted him at 1 1/2 years old. We joked about renaming him ‘Walter’ because he was such a grumpy old man.
It took a while and a lot of work (and love!), especially on his part, but he’s become such a sweet, loving and wonderful addition to our family. He loves his walks, squeaky toys, rolling around in the grass, and above all, his belly rubs. He’s so smart and has learned so many tricks, we can’t think of any more to teach him. Finally, you could not find a sweeter dog when it comes to children, puppies or other small animals. He just loves them!
Jamesonâs (aka Harrison) journey was much smoother and heâs been a social and happy kitty since day 1. James and Tanek like to hang out together and get brushed in the sunshine in the summer and fall (see pics!)
I just wanted to drop a note to all of you and CCHS and say thank you for taking care of our little guys till we found them. We love them so much and we like to think that theyâre pretty happy with us too ï
