I’m Lucy (my nickname is “Lucy Loops”). I am two years old. When I was little my owners couldn’t keep me, so I was given to someone else until I could find a forever home. I stayed there a while. Then, someone decided to adopt me, but then I got returned again, but I don’t know why. I am a very good girl. Then, in July, these really nice people came to visit me at the shelter. I was so quiet and didn’t bark at all for attention. The nice people said that they just had a 14 year old sweet golden mix pass away and they wanted to give another dog a forever home. The nice people were not from the U.P., but they had volunteered at the shelter when they lived in the Copper Country and their family was from here. They were on vacation in the Copper Country. So, they brought their two other dogs to the shelter so I could meet the rest of the pack– Jakers and Molly. The people at the shelter were so helpful in introducing me to Jakers and Molly because Jakers and Molly were a little nervous about adding a new member to the pack. I was so sweet and nice. The nice couple decided to take me to Calumet to my grandma and grandpa’s home! And then, a few days later I got to go on a nice car ride to Grand Rapids with mom and dad.
Now, I live on two wooded acres in a log home with a dog door and fenced in yard. Sometimes I go outside by myself and just run around for no good reason. I love my dog door! I chase squirrels. I chase squeaky balls, and sometimes I even chase Jakers (he doesn’t like when I do that!). I go for a walk with the pack everyday, which is great because I have lots of energy. My dad sometimes takes me for long runs and I never get tired. I even went to the dog park and met new friends. I also like to go to Pet Smart to pick out my own treats. My favorite thing is to cuddle up with my dad at night.
