What about Bob?

My husband always promised me we could get a dog when he got a “real job.” Shortly after we moved to Houghton, I stopped by CCHS to look at all the dogs and kitties looking for homes. I looked and saw many potential future pets, but knew that Paul would have to have a say in which one we would get to take home. I finally got him to CCHS one evening, and the entire drive there he kept saying, “Now, you know we’re going just to look, right? Don’t think we’re going to adopt tonight, or bring a dog home right away. We’re just starting our search. Remember that.” I agreed.
We walked around looking at all of the dogs, and Paul kept saying they were too big, or not the right kind…and then we saw Bob. He was fairly small, black and had bright eyes looking up at us. Paul decided we should take him for a walk. We walked him for a bit, and came back, and Paul looked at me and said, “What about Bob? I think we should adopt him.” Suffice it to say my jaw dropped. So much for “just looking”!
We got to take Bob home just a couple days later. The cats were a little leery of him first, but they’ve all had time to become friends. As I write this, Bob is on the couch next to me, snoring. I’m really happy he found his forever home with us!!
