Our daughter Meri started volunteering at the CCHS her Freshman year at MTU. One particular cat stuck out among the rest. He wasn’t the most friendly and didn’t have a ‘pet me, pet me, pet me’ attitide. He seeded content to sit in the background to wait for someone to notice him. Unfortunately, Yoder was still at CCHS the fall of her Sophmore year. Still patiently waiting in the background. We met Yoder during Winter Carnival and Yoder endured (not necessarily quietly for part of it!) the 8 hour trip on her next break home. He was pretty scared when he first arrived and we difinitely had our trials and tribulations. Yoder now LOVES playing with toys and scratching or sitting on his scratch pad, enjoys the company of one of our other cat LG, knows the routine of feeding time and is becoming just one of the family. He’s got such a cute figure – a ‘short wheel base’ as my husband says, cute subby paws, a short tail. He’s also very vocal and ‘talks’ alot. His purr is loud and continues long after he’s stopped being petted. We’re glad we adopted Yoder. He’s definitely made his spot in our house and our hearts. 🙂
